Advance Auto to buy Northeast parts firm B.W.P. Distributors
Advance Auto on Wednesday announced the planned purchase of a small automotive parts chain in the Northeast that sells primarily to commercial garages.
Advance's forte has been the do-it-yourself market, but the company sees growth potential in catering to commercial customers. The planned purchase of B.W.P. Distributors Inc. supports both that strategy and Advance's yearning for a larger presence in the Northeast, the company said.
B.W.P. is based in Armonk, N.Y. It opened in 1962 and operates or supplies products to 216 locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, Advance said.
The purchase price was not released.
