Seen one? Tell us.

Call them cougars, mountain lions, catamounts, pumas, painters or panthers, there still hasn't been a confirmed sighting of one in Virginia since 1882. Once found across North America, the species was wiped out in the east by habitat destruction and hunting. Yet people report sightings to Virginia game officials every year. Seen one? Email us the date, time, description and photos. We'll add it to the map.
