Michael Abraham's angry-white-man inanity ("Lincoln, angry white men and everybody else," Dec. 2 commentary) conforms with the extreme liberal views one comes to expect from your publication, but his standard characterization of those of us who oppose the actions of President Obama as "angry white men" (read racists) is a typical liberal mendacity.
He begins with a non sequitur by using the image of a "huge gas-guzzling pickup truck ... Emblazoned with scores of emblems of Angry White Men fanaticism." The truck becomes a representation of men deserving of the ad hominem attacks that follow.
In effect, he attempts to trivialize legitimate grievances against trends in our culture and government with which we disagree. Most offensively, he describes us as racially biased.
His propositions, historic references, twisting of the truth and erroneous conclusions are not worthy of exposition in a serious newspaper. His frequent use of the angry-white-man dishonesty is a disgraceful calumny. Abraham has revealed himself to be an angry and base race-monger whose poisoned mentality has produced a hateful assault on people whose values and aspirations do not comport with his.
