Today is National Pie Day!
To celebrate, the American Pie Council published "America's Best Pies: Nearly 200 Recipes You'll Love" (Skyhorse Publishing, $24.95) in October, featuring recipes that have won awards throughout 18 years of the National Pie Championships.
Some featured recipes include My Big Fat Italian Strawberry Basil Wedding Pie, Holiday Cranberry Mince Pie and White-Bottomed Caramel Chocolate Pecan Pie.
Of course, there's also a recipe for apple pie — America's favorite flavor of pie, according to a 2012 survey.
