Out & About: Martina McBride & The Joy of Christmas
Country music star Martina McBride and her family like Christmas season best of all, McBride has said. So she's putting together a set full of her favorite holiday numbers and hitting the road.
McBride's Joy of Christmas Tour - which takes her and her band to cities including Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Chicago - stops at Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre on Sunday.
The singer, who last played Roanoke Civic Center on April 21, is likely to perform songs from her 1998 album, "White Christmas." That disc, which sold more than a million copies, included such seasonal, er, chestnuts as "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" and "Silent Night."
The event also features a buffet loaded with entrees such as stuffed chicken saltimbocca and beef tenderloin medallions.
