Local flavor: Tina Liza Jones' Cheese Cornbread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 largish onion
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 can (about 14 ounces) cream-style corn

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Heat empty frying pan in oven. Mix all ingredients into a batter. Pull out very hot frying pan; pour in batter. Bake for about 30 minutes.
