The drinking age in Virginia: Your take

What do you think?

When The Roanoke Times | roanoke.com began the Under21 series in May 2009, we asked our community about the drinking age in Virginia. The leaders of more than 130 U.S. colleges and universities, including Virginia Tech and Hollins, have called for renewed discussion of lowering the drinking age, which was set at 21 in 1985, by signing The Amethyst Initiative.

What do you think? Do you remember when it was legal to drink alcohol at 18? Should the drinking age be returned to that level? What could that mean for college campuses -- and society in general?
