Roanoke police arrest 2 men, 1 woman in Monday robbery
Roanoke police on Monday arrested two men and a woman on charges they attacked and robbed a man in the northeast part of the city.
Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said officers were called to the intersection of Williamson Road and Wayne Street Northeast after someone reported seeing three people run away from the neighborhood, one of them with a baseball bat. According to the caller, they got into a car and started driving south on Williamson Road.
Meanwhile, officers got word that a 53-year-old man had been robbed in the 1900 block of Wayne Street. The unidentified man told police that three people walked up to him, beat him and took his wallet. He was then taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police stopped the car at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Williamson Road and found Matthew Paul Jackson, 23; Ibrahim Kadrolli, 18; and Corrine Martin, 26, all of Roanoke, inside the vehicle.
Police charged Jackson with robbery and malicious wounding. Kadrolli was arrested on charges of robbery, malicious wounding, drunk in public and underage possession of alcohol. Martin was charged with principal in the second degree of a robbery and possession of marijuana.
