Man shot along Blue Ridge Parkway dies
One of the two victims of this week's Blue Ridge Parkway shooting died Friday afternoon at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Timothy Davis, 27, of Charlottesville died shortly after being taken off life support at 4:30 p.m., a source in the Augusta County commonwealth's attorney's office said.
The charges against Ralph Leon Jackson, 56, of Stuarts Draft, who is already facing attempted murder charges and charges of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, will be updated to include first-degree murder, said Rupen Shah, chief deputy commonwealth's attorney for Augusta County.
Davis was struck by a shotgun blast as he sat at Rock Point Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway watching the sunset Monday. He was seated next to the other victim, Christina Floyd, 18, of Fluvanna County, who survived.
