Roanoke police investigate shooting of Salem woman
Brittna Leriha Hodges, 22, reported the incident early Thursday morning after she was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle to receive treatment for a gunshot wound, according to police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson.
Hodges told police she was walking in the 1400 block of Staunton Avenue between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to Johnson, Hodges said a maroon Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows and large rims passed her on the street just before she was shot.
Johnson said police are investigating whether the vehicle was related to the shooting. No arrests have been made in the case. Police ask anyone with information to call 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500.
