3 juveniles arrested in Shaffers Crossing arson
Roanoke police arrested three juveniles Saturday in connection with the arson of a warehouse in the Shaffers Crossing area.
Fire crews responded to the 2500 block of Johnson Avenue just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday to find heavy flames coming from a CMC Supply warehouse, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS spokeswoman Tiffany Bradbury.
Bradbury said the fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage.
Police spokeswoman Aisha Johnson said police apprehended one juvenile attempting to flee from the area. Officers later took two more juveniles into custody. One has been charged with arson and was taken to Coyner Springs Juvenile Detention Center.
Johnson said charges are pending against the two other juveniles.
