Wounded Eagle Fund benefit concert canceled over forecast

Anticipated snowfall in the region led organizers to cancel a concert scheduled for tonight at Franklin County High School that was to benefit the Wounded Eagle Fund.

Diane Cannaday, a teacher and adviser to the school's Future Farmers of America, said it seemed prudent to cancel the concert because of the threat of snow. She said another date will be set, probably in the spring.

Six bands, all with ties to the high school, had been scheduled to perform at the concert.

The FFA established the Wounded Eagle Fund last year soon after a January car crash took the life of one student at Franklin County High School and injured three others. The fund offers assistance to students and families who are in distress.
