Woman killed in crash on slick roadway in Pulaski County
At approximately 11:55 a.m., officers were called to the wreck on U.S. 11, about a half mile north of the Stone Ridge subdivision, according to Capt. Jeff Saunders.
A 1999 Plymouth was traveling south when it went out of control and crossed into the northbound lane. The Plymouth was struck in the passenger's side by a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, Saunders said.
The passenger in the Plymouth died at the scene, and the driver was taken to LewisGale Hospital Pulaski with injuries that were not apparently life-threatening, according to Saunders. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
The names of those involved had not been released Friday evening, pending notification of family members. All were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, Saunders said.
Saunders said the wreck is under investigation, and charges are pending.
