The Roanoke Times offers free tours of our news and production areas Monday through Friday. Each tour lasts approximately one hour and takes your group through the news and advertising departments, pre-press production area and our print facility. Other topics, such as the newspaper's history, website (roanoke.com) and circulation, are discussed during the tour. We can accommodate school groups with up to 30 participants.
Please note: groups with more than 30 participants will be split into smaller groups and/or scheduled at different tour times. For safety reasons, our minimum age requirement is 9 years old or 3rd grade level.
One adult chaperone from the visiting organization is required for every 10 participants in grades 3-12. Requests for tour scheduling must be made at least one week in advance.
