CLINTWOOD - Gavan Meade rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns as Clintwood (10-1) topped Radford 41-7 in the first round of the Division 1 West playoffs on Saturday at Clintwood High School.
The Bobcats (3-8) fell behind 28-0 in the first half but did go into halftime with some hope when quarterback Hunter Marshall found freshman receiver Marcus Finley for a 5-yard TD pass late in the second quarter.
However, Marshall completed just two other attempts and finished with 8 passing yards.
Clintwood's defense got good pressure on Marshall most of the day and also picked off two passes.
The Greenwave, on the way to its 10th straight win, outgained the Bobcats 506-110.
Radford was in the playoffs for the fourth straight season, was knocked out in the first round for the first time during its current run.
Next up for Clintwood is Haysi, which beat Castlewood 48-29 on Saturday.
