Donte Clark of Hargrave Military Academy has verbally committed to Virginia Tech, said Hargrave coach A.W. Hamilton.

Clark, a small forward/off-guard from Charlotte, N.C., will play for Hargrave’s postgraduate team as a senior this year. He is rated No. 86 on ESPN’s list of the top 100 seniors in the nation.

Clark visited Tech over the weekend and loved the school, said Hamilton.

According to ESPN.com, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound Clark also had offers from Memphis, Georgia, Charlotte, Providence, Tennessee and East Carolina. He also had offers from Clemson, Miami and Central Florida, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Clark spent his junior year at Kennedy Charter Public School in Charlotte after transferring from Queens Grant High School in Matthews, N.C. He averaged 15.6 points, 4.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 rebounds last season, when he had 20 points and 10 assists against national power Oak Hill Academy.
