Notes: The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 70-58 loss Tuesday to visiting North Carolina, which pulled away late after leading by only three points early in the second half. … UVa is looking to avenge one of its most painful losses, a 66-60 setback at Georgia Tech, where the Cavaliers led by nine points with under eight minutes remaining. … Two days after the first UVa-Georgia Tech game, 6-foot-11 UVa freshman Mike Tobey was diagnosed with mononucleosis and has not played in three weeks, although there are indications that a return is not far off. … UVa’s Harris is second in the ACC in scoring in ACC games (18.4) and fourth in all games (16.7).

Notes: Snaer has hit three game-winning shots at the buzzer this season. Last year, he hit a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left to beat the visiting Hokies. … FSU is coming off an 84-66 loss at North Carolina State. … FSU is tops in the ACC in free-throw percentage (72.3 percent). … Eddie was 7 of 13 from the field last weekend at N.C. State but had another poor shooting performance against Duke on Thursday, when he was 2 of 9 from the field. “It’s just not going down for him right now,” Tech coach James Johnson said. “You go from knocking big 3s down at N.C. State to coming back and shooting an airball. I don’t know how it happens.” Eddie is shooting 25 percent from the field the past five games.

Notes: FSU beat the Hokies 70-56 last month. … The Seminoles average 78.5 points, tops in the ACC. They have beaten Tech eight straight times. … Natasha Howard has recorded three straight double-doubles for FSU. She averages 13.7 points and 7.9 rebounds. … Leonor Rodriguez averages 16.4 points for FSU, with Alexa Deluzio averaging 13.9 points and Chelsea Davis 13.4 points. FSU forward Chasity Clayton also averages in double figures but has missed five straight games with an ankle injury. … After beating nationally ranked North Carolina 80-73 last weekend, FSU lost 61-50 at Duke on Friday. Tech’s Taijah Campbell remains sidelined with an injured foot.
