William & Mary impressive, yet not overwhelming
There is a certain magic at the College of William and Mary.
The college is located in historic Williamsburg against the backdrop of Colonial Williamsburg and the pristine James River.
The campus is very Ivy League-esque with many brick buildings from the 18th century in a close, tightknit area.
This college isn't stuck in the Colonial era, however, because Williamsburg is a modern city that is growing.
A W&M student or tourist can browse the shops and restaurants right outside of campus on the famed brick roads of Colonial Williamsburg. And Busch Gardens theme park, outlet malls and other attractions are only a few minutes away.
Many facilities and activities are available on campus, including Swem Library, where students flock during exam week; the Sadler Center, the hub of student activity on campus; and many concerts, films and performances.
Overall, W&M gives a small-school feel combined with stellar academics and surrounded by a great college town.
